Laptop Backpacks
A long time ago, in a place far away, people viewed backpacks as the preserve of “hippies” or students that had taken a gap year to travel the world. Ok, it wasn’t that long ago and it was really, here, in the UK, that opinion held sway, but, in terms of mindset it was light years away from where our opinion on backpacks now lay.
We are all far more aware of the benefits of carrying backpacks, which are ergonomically designed to evenly distribute weight over a larger portion of our bodies and help to prevent back injuries in the future. This awareness led to the increasing popularity of backpacks for pupils, scholars and trainees, but, technology marches on and, sometimes, our demands exceeded what a backpack could provide. We got small, portable computers which gave us an, unbelievable, amount of freedom to conduct study, work, play and (sssh, don’t tell the parents) chat online to friends instead of working or studying, away from our schools, colleges and offices.
This worked out great until the younger generation got fed up carrying their laptops (portable computers) around like they were business executives with their briefcases, wanted their hands free to text with their portable telephones (mobiles) and started, literally, shoving their laptops into backpacks that were not designed for that purpose. How many laptops got broken falling from overflowing backpacks or were damaged pulling them out of backpacks housing sharpened pencils, protractors or other sharp laptop unfriendly objects, is not known, but, was certainly more than one or two.
Time did not stand still when it came to finding a solution for this problem either.
Laptop backpacks were born out of a necessity to have a laptop, constantly, available , as well as, folders, books, documents and the thousand and one other items that are essential for modern day work, study, rest and play, whilst keeping the hands free for, erm, just about anything.
Laptop backpacks protect our precious laptops (precious because of expense of item and the information it stores) with padded sleeves and their own compartments, as well as, providing additional storage for folders, pencils, notebooks, audio equipment and offers a lightweight solution to our modern day needs.
